What's the verdict?

I have been endlessly criticised by family for even remotely suggesting I may call my next child Agatha, obviously if she's a girl.

Myself and my husband think it's a very elegant name and doesn't sound too abstract from our first child's name, Jacob.

Am I deluded?

Hmm, I do tend to like all the 'old' names making a comeback but I'm not sure I could name a child Agatha. Won't you get bored with people saying 'oh, like Agatha Christie'?

Always makes me think of Hag.

Although Taggie is quite sweet

I think it's horrible. It doesn't seem at all elegant to me, quite the opposite. Actually it makes me think of The Trunchbull in Matilda.

I think Agatha is a beautiful name, I know an 11 year old Agatha nn Aggie.

Absolutely love it, mainly cos of Taggie (O'Hara - I too know my Jilly Cooper!) for short...

i know a new baby called Agatha Enid and it really doesn't "suit" her or go with her siblings name!

No, this is one of those old names that doesn't need to be revived. It's an ugly sounding name if that makes sense. Agnes is a lot more elegant.
