Was on our list of final 3 names for girls but we had a boy. Am pregnant with DC2 and hope to be using this name!

I don't find it feminine at all...

nickytwotimes · 19/05/2009 13:32

Nothing worng with it specifically, just always found it a bit meh.

scratchet · 19/05/2009 17:10

I love the name Erin, it is on my shortlist too! Not at all keen on Susie, i know 3 and they are all unpleasant! x

Twims · 19/05/2009 17:13

Know a couple of Erin's cute name and easy to spell when they start school.

lynniep · 19/05/2009 17:13

I really like it, but I suggested it to DH last time I was pg and he said no way. So I guess thats out if this ones a girl...

Also like Susie - was the name of my cat, but I'd be quite happy to call my daughter it as well.

Fimbo · 19/05/2009 17:16

My niece is called Erin, I would have used it if my dsil hadn't got in there first!

Congratulations to BexieID btw!

LittleMissNorty · 19/05/2009 17:17

my 15 week old DS was going to be called Erin had he been a DD....so I love it

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 19/05/2009 17:18

Erin is lovely!

Sazisi · 19/05/2009 17:19

I love it - DD1's middle name

FelineFine · 19/05/2009 17:20

I like it. It's pretty. It's also very common, where I live, maybe not where you live though!

DobbyDooDah · 19/05/2009 17:28

i love the name, its irish isnt it? i have a good friend called Erin and it suits her very much! i hope the name will suit the baby

MrsMattie · 19/05/2009 17:33

Not keen, really. Bit Yankified. I know two little girls called Erin recently. Both Erin Grace, weirdly. It's not horrible, it's just fake-Irish to my ears.

JoPie · 21/05/2009 18:12

I've never met an Erin in Ireland, I think it would be cheesy, as Eiránn (Ireland) is a commonly used word.
Does sound more american to me, but its ok.

guineamango · 21/05/2009 18:19

I love this name too and it's on my girl list....but my DH says it sounds like Herring (the fish) Which when you think about it, it does

Sazisi · 21/05/2009 18:44

I'm in Ireland and have met 3 Erins here..they are all young though so I guess it's seen as kind of modern.

guineamango yes, but only if you are unable to pronounce the h and the g!

Poppity · 21/05/2009 19:01

I love Erin, reminds me of The Waltons

Gorionine · 21/05/2009 19:03

snap poppity!

sockmonster · 21/05/2009 19:26

I like it I think it would suit a pixie-like child. It's pretty.
