it's fine

MrsMattie · 18/05/2009 20:49

I love it, although I know others on MN don't...

suwoo · 18/05/2009 20:50

Yeah it can be nice, but as with all combinations, it just depends on the name choices.

Hassled · 18/05/2009 20:50

I quite like it. I took my ex-H's surname in my first marriage and had the same initials for first and last name - I think it's quite distinguished. Unless you're Jack Jackson or something like that.

Claire2009 · 18/05/2009 20:51

Really?..

Oh, I don't like it. Looks odd written down as well as said.

There's a little girl at Dd's Playschool "Halla Hanks"
and a little boy called "Jack Jones"

Halla Hanks is a really bizarre choice, alliteration or not.

Tortington · 18/05/2009 20:53

jack jones is rather unfortunate - its rhyming slang for 'on your own' as in " i'm oall on my jack/jack jones, they fucked off and left me the bastards"

i don't think pregnant women should be allowed to pick names.

i think babies should be known by a number until 6 weeks after the birth - at which time the mother will have got the stupid shit out of her head.

suwoo · 18/05/2009 20:53

My DS2 will have two middle names beginning with A but it seems to go ok.

Claire2009 · 18/05/2009 20:55

PMSL Custardo! I didn't know that about Jack Jones! I sat in with Ds & Dd in Playschool today to settle Ds and was reading the velcro laminated names

There was a girl at my school called Lola Lovette. I always thought that was super cool . Quite porn star, though, in retrospect.

lol!@Jack Jones.

'On me jacks' is a common phrase in our household - as in me saying to DH 'So you're just going off down the pub and leaving me on my jacks again, are you?'
