Boy or girl? 'Cool' is in the eye of the beholder - I guess you mean more unusual names. Most old-fashioned 'Christian' names are actually Jewish - best place to look would be the Old Testament really, although the English pronunciations are rarely anything like the Hebrew. A good place to start would be the geneology of Jesus, which is given in Matthew 1:1?17 and Luke 3:23?28. Saves you buying a whole baby book if you happen to have a bible at home. We used this book as DH is Israeli and I'm English, so we wanted the DDs to have names that worked in both countries.

We went for Isaac - my family Jewish and we wanted to make reference to that, but DH's side CofE and Isaac covers Christian bases too. When we really want him to engage with his Jewish roots, we call him Yitz.
