If you and your DH used to have a dog called Maddy would you call your daughter Madeleine/Maddy?

Or would that be weird???

The other fly in the ointment is that it is DH's gran's name on his Dad's side and his Mum really doesn't get on with her...

My first cat was called William. And so is ds2. Just didn't make the connection until it was too late.
In my defence, it was my dad who named the cat and it was in homage to Bill Shankly (cat had a middle name of Anfield), whereas my William was named after someone else entirely.
I still keep quiet about it though.

haven't read whole thread....but apart from family how many people honestly know what your dog was called?? just a thought if you like it you could probably use it

was going to suggest calling her Madison and shortening to Maddy but then realised the issue was Maddy not Madeleine lol
