Hi
We are cutting it fine but have drawn up the final shortlist in this order, though not entirely chosen. We want a name that's not overdone but not pretentious, quirky but not silly - along the way this has discounted the likes of Archie + Lilly. We don't know what we're having...appreciate the thoughts....

Boys

  1. Oscar
  2. Tate
  3. Sebastian

Girls

  1. Eugenie
  2. Isabella (poss too popular)
  3. Talullah

Many thanks, hopefully we'll have a nailed on name over the next day or so....thanks in advance

PieceNharmoknee · 11/05/2009 22:44

I like Oscar and Sebastian but not any of your girls choices

gagarin · 11/05/2009 22:51

Oscar and Isabella are very popular down this way.

Sebastian and Eugenie are lovely

Fimbo · 11/05/2009 22:54

Sebastian

Don't like the girl choices. I would suggest
Liberty

Clary · 11/05/2009 22:55

I like Oscar and Sebastian. Tate means potato where I come from (sorry).

All your girls' names are nice but Isabella is pretty popular. Eugenie has never caught on despite being a princess. I think I like Talullah best. Do you have a shortish surname?

CornishAir · 11/05/2009 23:11

Thanks all, points noted...good 'Liberty' suggestion, this was our original first choice. Surname will be Baker-Pill, bit of a mouthful, though will be getting married in the not too distant future (been together for 15 years.

Sebastian is gorgeous.

Isabella is nice, but as you said is getting popular.

I am obsessed with Constance as a girls name if that inspires you at all.

Definitely Oscar. Not sure about the girls. I like Isabella too but it is popular round here.

gloomysue · 12/05/2009 12:20

Oscar and Tallulah

EyeballsisonaDietAgain · 12/05/2009 12:21

Sebastian and Eugenie, no question. I'm suffering from Isabella-fatigue even though it's a lovely name.

MmeLindt · 12/05/2009 12:22

Sebastian and Isabella get my vote

preggersplayspop · 12/05/2009 13:14

Sebastian and Liberty

jellybeans · 12/05/2009 13:36

KEAWYED · 12/05/2009 14:04

Id say Sebastian or Oscar.
Though i am biased Sebastian is DS1 name and Oscar is on my shortlist for DS3 along with Reuben.
Sorry crap at girls names.

Good luck xx

SoupDragon · 12/05/2009 14:06

don't like Tate or Talullah.

AandO · 12/05/2009 15:58

Oscar and Talullah

MakemineaGandT · 12/05/2009 16:01

No to Tate or Tallulah, but the other suggestions are nice

stripeypineapple · 12/05/2009 16:03

Sebastian and Tallulah.

Penthesileia · 12/05/2009 16:04

Oscar very common at the moment.

Tate is cute, but the novely could wear off.

I really like Sebastian.

Talullah, like Tate, could start off great, but lose its charm over time. Plus, I think it's a very particular, quite "girly", name, and if you LO turns out to be a tomboy or astrophysicist, it might not sit so well?

Isobella is lovely, but as someone's said, becoming more common at the moment.

So, I plump for Eugenie. Nice name.
