Which do you prefer for a girl and why?

Serena. It's a lovely name.

Brynn is rather masculine.

crokky · 11/05/2009 22:20

Serena, just really like the name!

boodleboot · 11/05/2009 22:22

i prefer serena as people will know it is a girl to which you are referring to immediately....i really don't like Brynn for a girl....its a boys name to me...

snickersnack · 11/05/2009 22:23

I assumed Brynn was a boy's name. Quite like Serena.

misdee · 11/05/2009 22:23

Serena of course

Brynn just makes me think boy.

LouLovesAeroplaneJelly · 11/05/2009 22:29

Serena - only because my sister just named her DD that. Brynn is a boys name to me.

differentID · 11/05/2009 22:29

Brynn is a boys name. It means "hill" in Welsh whe spelt without the second "n"

Pingpong · 12/05/2009 00:32

Agree Brynn sounds masculine to me.
What about Seren - Welsh for star if you like Welsh names

I know two Bryns - one is 8 and one is in his 20s - they are both male, so for that reason i don't like it for a girl (but love love love it as a name for a boy!)

Don't really like Serena - prefer Seren but still not nuts about that sorry

basementbear · 14/05/2009 20:57

Brynn is definitely a Welsh boys name - have never heard it for a girl.

I like Serena - when I was young there was a girl in our school called Serena who was very pretty and could do the splits, I SO wanted to be her

scottishmummy · 14/05/2009 21:05

brynn is a male name

diedandgonetodevon · 14/05/2009 21:07

I'm a serena so would have to go with that.

Is brynn really a girls name?!? [boggle]

suwoo · 14/05/2009 21:16

I would think there may be a few American girls named Brynn.

Paolosgirl · 14/05/2009 21:21

Brynn is a welsh boys name - don't you watch Gavin and Stacey?!

Love Serena...

Lilyloo · 14/05/2009 21:35

RachieB · 16/05/2009 17:19

devientenigma · 17/05/2009 20:29

My son is Brynley, an extension of Bryn, definatly masculine. What about Bree.

ScummyMummy · 17/05/2009 20:32

Serena. Though I would be concerned that she would turn into a fiery hellion. Quite like fiery hellions though.
