Good idea Fox but unfortunately our current two fat-cat lumps probably wouldn't approve! We started talking about Marmalade again last night and still really like it. It would really suit the rest of her name and it would suit her as she is so sweet. We just couldn't do it in case she hated us for it and decided we had ruined her life.

I love Tuesday too - and Honeysuckle. I also like Homily (like the Borrower)

alicecrail · 14/05/2009 08:38

A friend of mine is Antigone - Tiggy for short, and it really suits her

newpup · 14/05/2009 09:32

Actually forget the play. The original Antigone is the daughter of an incestous relationship of mother and son!!!

It does sound pretty though!

newpup · 14/05/2009 09:33

Sorry should read - between mother and son.

monkeycat · 14/05/2009 10:13

We liked Hero and Io but couldn't do it in the end - but she still ended up with a pretty unusual name .

I love the sound of Io but the story is pretty tragic - she ended up changed into a cow !

I do still yearn for Hero though .

I also loved Sylvie and Martha but DH wouldn't agree to either of them.

Arwen was another strong contender - we even tried it out for a day but I realised that I like the idea of Arwen ( elf princess )more than the actual sound of the name IYSWIM ?

Cicatrice · 14/05/2009 10:36

I love Demelza, Lydia, Ariadne. But didn't produce a girl so irrelevant.DH wouldn't have any of them anyway.

I also like Esk

cheesesarnie · 14/05/2009 10:39

thell · 14/05/2009 10:52

newpup my friend has a poster of the play in her downstairs loo

MayorNaze · 14/05/2009 11:36

Lavinia and Virginia

i think they are lovely

but they both shorten to not so lovely things

plus you just know girls named those are destined for st trinians circa the joyce grenfell era...not that that's really a bad thing...

wolfear · 15/05/2009 10:16

Penelope

Bonnycat · 16/05/2009 13:08

Metella · 16/05/2009 13:13

Elenya (from an obscure part of Lord of the Rings, LOL)

Saoirse

Varsha

Didn't have any girls so it didn't matter!

I really wanted to call first daughter Minna but it was vetoed on grounds of being transformed to Minger in the playground.

Verity79 · 17/05/2009 21:38

Iphegenia,
Serenity,
Ianthe (if no.3 is a girl it will probably be her middle name with Callia as a 1st)
Perpetua

Though we kind of went with fantasy for our first 2 girls with Lilith Louise and Alethea Ivy

dinkymum · 17/05/2009 22:03

Jemima
