Samson/Sampson?

Looking for some unbiased opinions & wondering what anyone thinks of Samson or Sampson for my 2nd boy? Too much I wonder....& how to spell it?

Do like the fact he can be just Sam unless he wants to pull out the big guns......his big brother is a Joe, from the Cornish Jowan.

Appreciate your help as I'm possibly blinded by hormones. Thanks ladies.

I love Samson.

Samson is ok, but Sampson looks odd.

Samson

am not madly keen TBH and it will inevitably be shortened to Sam

do you like it?

LetThemEatCake · 10/05/2009 20:08

I love Samson. Was on our shortlist for current bump (gender unknown)

However I so sometimes wonder if I should have named dc2 Samson as he has the strength of 10 men ....and a fine head of hair .... its terrifying.

I really like Samson and it was on the shortlist. I don't know why it isn't more common as an alternative to Samuel ...

Don't dislike it, but might be one of those names that's hard to pull off if, for example, he's noticably slight and sensitive?

If you like Cornish names then Samson does 'go' as it's the largest uninhabited island of the Isles of Scilly. It's spelt Samson, without a 'p'.
