Camilla

A woman at a group has named her daughter Camilla and I really like it (I'm due in September) - what do you think?

(I don't know the woman well btw so don't think it would cause offense if I copied )

I prefer Camille or Cammelia, to be honest. Camilla still has horsey royal connotations for me, I'm afraid.

it will be likely that there will be a Queen Camilla as she grows up though. If that's ok with you go for it

I know an adult one who is called Milly. You can be Milly when small and dinky but Camilla as an adult.

She did say that she'd had a few reactions.

I think Camilla will probably be known as the Duchess of Cornwall (or an equivalent title). Due to the history, 'Queen Camilla' is supposedly not going to happen.
But obviously that is the association. I think she's turned out to be quite nice though.(Is that controversial?)

I think that's why I like it - Because of the Camilla PB association, i don't think it will become hugely popular with 3 in every class!

I also have no strong feelings either way about P-B.

What else could it be shortened to? Is Mimi a bit pretentious?

I think it's such a pretty name. Millie is a lovely shortening of it. Mimi is lovely too, not pretentious imo. I'd say go for it. Agree it has the royal link but tbh as SamJams said, it's not a bad link, she seems lovely to me and is a very different generation anyway to a newborn!
