Love Cassian
Yawn at Joshua and Jack
Indifferent at Isaac
Dislike t'other 2

Tidey · 06/05/2009 20:08

It sounds to me like some kind of uncomfortable robe. I think it's because I saw it as a mixture of cassock and hessian. Ignore me. Carry on.

Crackopenthebaileys · 06/05/2009 20:08

I really love Cassian. I've never heard it before, it's beautiful. I like Jesse too, but DH point blank refused!

Levi is a bit.....ahem.....don't want to say THAT word incase I get flamed!
Hunter is very American, so I guess it depends on your location. Do you have any other dc's to 'match' the name with?

AttillaTheHan · 06/05/2009 20:10

Like Isaac
Really don't like cassian
Joshua and Jack nice but dull
Please don't call him hunter, might as well call him trojan (a la gladiators)

MmeLindt · 06/05/2009 20:15

Cassian reminded me of hessian wallpaper

sorry

Isaac is ok

Levi = Jeans

Hunter - very American, which is absolutely fine if you are American

Joshua is lovely.

Jack is good but a bit boring.

thelollipoplady · 06/05/2009 20:20

at hunter being off gladiators! hadn't even thought of that!!

I've been trying to find pronunciations for Cassian - I think it's actually said KASH-AN (someone will come along in a mo and put me straight no doubt)...

What about Cassius?

Tidey · 06/05/2009 20:26

Oh, I thought it was Cassy-un. In that case, I'll shall withdraw my robe analogy. Pronounced Kash-an, it reminds me of cash-n-carry.

thelollipoplady · 06/05/2009 20:27

our surname starts with a s-sound, so names that end in s don't really work. Problem too with -x ending names, shame coz I rather like max.

thelollipoplady · 06/05/2009 20:30

Crackopenthebaileys · 06/05/2009 20:33

hmmm not so keen if it's cash-un. sounds like a nut

Tidey · 06/05/2009 20:34

Sorry thelollipoplady. I like Isaac and Joshua best out of the others on your list, if that helps at all.

thelollipoplady · 06/05/2009 20:37

i know. cassian (without the cash) sounds caspian-y, but a bit more macho.

thelollipoplady · 06/05/2009 20:39

thought both your comments were hilarious tidey - and don't apologise - keep it coming, i need to hear all of this!

still bit suspicious of isaac - it's looking v popular with mumsnetters. i'm still sensitive after calling DD ruby when it still got reactions from friends relations, only to find everyone and their mate down the road calling their baby girls ruby a few years later....

jack is ok

numal · 06/05/2009 21:59

Cassian is a great name. There is one at DC's school who is gorgeous. Go for it.
