I like it - know an adult Johnny and a Johnnie and both lovely guys. If I were you, I'd give a baby the name John and call him Johnny, giving him the choice later on. I know one baby John and think it's unusual and a great name.

I love the name John (my brother's name), but for some reason HATE Johnny.

To me it sounds a bit fey, a bit "posh", a bit twee. That's just me though.

Prefer John or Jonathan as main name which you can then nickname Johnny but can't imagine a guy in his 30s being taken that seriously with the name as his only name - sound a bit "little boy"ish..

i taught a jonnie a yr or 2 ago and he was an adorable boy. so i now love the name!

My ds's best friend is called John. He is known as Johnny or Jonno. Or occasionally Jonty. Fab name with lots of choice!
