Is Grace getting too popular? Id probably end up calling her Gracie instead.

IIRC it's been the most popular name for a couple of years in row. I do think it's a lovely name, but definitely very popular.

MrsMattie · 29/04/2009 20:39

It is incredibly popular, but I still think it's lovely.

GossipMonger · 29/04/2009 20:41

I work at school and there is one Grace in the whole of the lower school and I know of one in upper school.

Not that popular and really pretty.

Do you think if i used May as a middle name it may sound silly if i call her Gracie May, because of the singer Macie Gray?
As i cnt think of anything else thatd go as a middle name, and am thinking of not bothering with one this time.

It is popular but it is also a lovely name! Oh, and much prefer it to Gracie!

feedthegoat · 29/04/2009 20:51

It was a main contender on our list when I was pregnent with my ds and I didn't know any at the time (he's now 3.6) but there has been at least 3 or 4 at every baby or toddler group we've been to. That said it wouldn't put me off, my ds has a very well used name anyway.

feedthegoat · 29/04/2009 20:52

pregnant! I really need to read before I post!

lovemybabyboy · 29/04/2009 21:45

Grace is a lovely name, there is one at the baby massage class i bring my DS to.

I also think Gracie May sounds really nice and cute, I would never have thought of Macie Gray if you hadnt siad it!

lovemybabyboy · 29/04/2009 21:46

said not siad!

wombleprincess · 29/04/2009 21:48

yes, both are v popular.

seeker · 29/04/2009 21:52

I have a Grace. She is one of 3 in her 1400 girl Secondary School and there isn't one in ds's 420 strong Primary School. She loves her name, but doesn't like Gracie outside the family, so I'd go for Grace officially to give her the choice.

seeker · 29/04/2009 21:53

It was head turningly unusual 13 years ago!

yogabird · 29/04/2009 21:53

Gracie Kate

Gracie Meg?

Grace Elizabeth

thell · 29/04/2009 21:58

Ditto, I wouldn't have thought of Macie Gray either!

seeker · 29/04/2009 22:10

My Grace is Grace Frances

SK1980 · 30/04/2009 00:04

I'm a bit bored with it, it's getting a bit like Sarah and Claire were when I was in school.

ninedragons · 30/04/2009 00:24

Grace is fine on its own but I'd leave out a middle name rather than use May - I only know one Grace but innumerable little girls with May as a middle name.

RachieB · 30/04/2009 12:33

Grace is lovely

Gracie ( esp teamed with Mae / May ) is far too twee / frilly for my liking

randomname · 30/04/2009 14:41

know two gracie/grace may's under 5

MammaTiggy · 30/04/2009 14:49

theres no Grace's in my dd 's class and i don't actually know of one at all!

its a lovely name and if i were you i would not be put off by the fact that it is popular, it is popular for a reason - because its a lovely name and lots of people think so!

MammaTiggy · 30/04/2009 14:52
