As in the cocktail?

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 29/04/2009 16:06

I don't like it - sorry

Mimsy is what I guess people would shorten it to - do you like that?

brimfull · 29/04/2009 16:06

is it a flower?

indian side dish?

fartmeistergeneral · 29/04/2009 16:07

Sounds like hamster name, sorry.

MrsMattie · 29/04/2009 16:07

Mimsy is absolutely ghastly!

stripeypineapple · 29/04/2009 16:07

It's a delicatessen in SE London.

ScummyMummy · 29/04/2009 16:07

Awful. Seriously.

Paolosgirl · 29/04/2009 16:08

Just don't. Please.

BonsoirAnna · 29/04/2009 16:09

It's a dreadfully oldfashioned retro dish with eggs - Oeufs mimosa. And a rather ugly flower.

marmoset · 29/04/2009 16:11

Sorry - not a fan. I can imagine the nn 'samosa' (sorry - i have a 10 year old ds and that's what they're like). Mimi is pretty or you could use it as a middle name to give the option if she wants?

mascaraohara · 29/04/2009 16:12

mimosa is a green fern-ish type plant that closes it leaves at night or if it's touched.. or does it just sound like mimosa(?)

and if that's not enough there are too many (mean) nicknames sorry

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 29/04/2009 16:13

Oh dear. No. It's awful.

Mimi is nice though, like marmoset suggested.

stripeypineapple · 29/04/2009 17:54

My cat is called Mimi.

Names stay with you throughout the rest of your life, could you take someone, an adult, seriously if she introduced herself as Mimi and she wasn't wearing a french maids outfit?

salvadory · 29/04/2009 19:44

what about Minerva?

Mimosa seems a bit wet. I can't imagine her being bolshy.

Mize · 29/04/2009 20:09

Mimosa is a cocktail made from champagne and orange juice. Please don't.

SK1980 · 29/04/2009 23:56

I think of that indian snack - samosa! don't like it.

Clary · 29/04/2009 23:57

mimosa is just not a name is it, really?

CandleQueen · 30/04/2009 00:03

Cat name

LastOrders · 30/04/2009 00:09

Minerva sounds like something I'd take to stop myself getting pregnant.

S1ur · 30/04/2009 00:11

I like to use Google as the ultimate judgement in all I do (which is why my children are called Wiki and Bigtitties)

However in your case Mimosa is bucks fizz or a tropical american thorny shrub. Sorry.

OutOfThinHair · 30/04/2009 00:13

Does this mean she'll grow up with a lady garden that smells of flowers? Sounds pretty good.

chandellina · 02/05/2009 18:53

it is definitely a name.

Horton · 02/05/2009 20:01
