Fabulous name. My husband vetoed it but I secretly wish I had held out ...

ramonaquimby · 24/04/2009 19:06

is bit ott

Berrie · 24/04/2009 19:08

It was on our list but felt it was a bit of a dog like name.

missmiss · 24/04/2009 19:16

I love it, but would put Montague/Montgomery on the birth certificate.

Lotster · 24/04/2009 19:46

"Oy", it's very Jewish.

Actually I knew a lovely old jewish friend of the family called Monty who was very kind to me when I was a kid so I'm quite fond of it.

I walked a dog called Monty the other day. Lovely little Scottie dog he was.

Sorry, but that's what I thought when I saw the name!

cornishwelk · 25/04/2009 13:50

Monty is nice. Montgomery is pretentious.

ChairmumMiaow · 25/04/2009 14:01

I just thought "Monty Burns" as soon as I read that, so I wouldn't go with it myself!

SouthernMeerkat · 25/04/2009 21:52

I absolutely adored it, but DH vetoed it - partly due to the Withnail connection, but as he was our third and private school fees became rather an issue, he thought it was unfair to send a child to state school (albeit in an area where there are other similarly named children), with the name Montgomery double-barrelled surname.

So, I had to let it go. There are actually a couple that I've met around here, so I may have got away with it, albeit DS2 wouldn't have been unique in his year!
