I'm about to have a baby girl. It's been really hard choosing a name and the name we'd really love to call her will give her the initials MAN.

Do you think this is a reason not to use this name? Or do you think it doesn't matter that much?

Opinions please!

MAN is not too bad.
I had a friend at school who was SLAG.
Not good.

I knew a kid who ended up with JAM - quite cool. I did have a logon at work that was supposed to be my initials but you had to have 3 and I don't have a middle name - so they just whacked an X in the middle. Dh was called Bagman at work because the IT dude just stuck an A in (dh does have a middle name, but IT dude was just too cool to ask).

So yes people are aware of it - having said that MAN is okay. Any chance of an extra couple of names so she could be WOMAN?

Hi

My maiden name gave me the initials SAL then first marriage I became SAG - I quickly dropped the A, my proper and happy marriage has given me SAT. Although I feel sorry for hubby as his initials are MPT even dropping the P makes not much difference.

I have to say though we will not be calling our little boy anything like Thomas Ian etc.

the dd's are AM and FM

it wasn't planned lol.

i spent most of my formative years being called 'the hairy monster' as i happened to have the same initials as the (is he dead? late?) great dave lee travis...

sometimes you can't win.
