First child coming in 2 weeks!

What about

Ethan
Jacob
George
James
Joseph

DH likes James George.

We have talked about James as a first name - this is my dads name, and was also my grandfathers name, but I'm just not 100% sure about it as a first name.
DHs name is Andrew and I like the idea of this as a middle name, but he is not sure. His middle name is George, and it is a bit of a family name, he would like to have this as a middle name - prefers it as a middle name rather than a first name.

I like the other names above too.

Any comments? Or other suggestions?

I like Ethan but I wont consider it as I couldnt deal with others turning into 'Efan'.

Jacob is DHs fav. boys name but I'm not a fan of Jake.

I like George a lot, might add this to my list

James is very nice.

I dont like Joseph as it would be shortned to 'Jo' which I'm not a fan of

i have a james....he is the only one in his year so it is more unusual than you would have first thought yet still a classic and unpretentious boys name.....it was his dad and his grandad's middle name. we love it...although he actually is known as Bob for the most part.....don't ask.....go for it....

I've a Jacob (nearly 4) and your list of names could easily be a list of his gang of friends!
Jacob is sometimes Jake or Jakey, but more often we call him Babob because that's what he used to call himself when learning to talk!

James means usurper

which is very appropriate as ds1 will totally usurp dh in your affections!!!

I'm afraid none of these names are my cup of tea but all nice in their own way.

Congrats on the bub, hope all goes well!

James George is a bit of mouthful... I would prefer James Andrew.

mags98 · 19/04/2009 22:34

I prefer James Andrew to James George as well.

(I think Ethan George sounds good though.)
