Lupus

before you all start, I'm not contemplating it for my child.

Just curious about something.

Dh went to school with a Lupus, which to my knowledge is a disease. I gather that it has some Italian/ Latin derivation from the word for 'wolf', but just wondered if anyone else knows anyone by this name. Also, is lupus a relatively 'new' disease and would this explain why 2 Oxford scholars called their child by this name? (ie because it didn't have the disease association yet)

lupus

Does appear to be a name from history too, but definitely my first thought would be a disease!

Lupus is a terrible autoimmune disease - not a god name for that reason!

No I have Lupus and it is not a thing I would wish on anybody, especially as a name for a baby.
