both lovely but I'd choose Isobel

changer22 · 17/04/2009 20:09

Isabel

BeauticianNotMagician · 17/04/2009 20:10

Isabel Rose i think thats a beautiful name.

randomname · 17/04/2009 20:13

Isabel but Agigail may be slightly less popular.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 17/04/2009 20:14

Isobel

gibba8 · 17/04/2009 20:26

Isobel is very popular here. I love Abigail Rose.

BabyBaby123 · 17/04/2009 20:31

Isabel

norktasticninja · 17/04/2009 20:33

Isabel Rose, the Initials ART put me off Abigail Rose.

lotspot · 17/04/2009 20:58

Comparing the two names i prefer Isabel - something about Abigail has never appealed to me

however Isabel is much more popular if that bothers you, and also there are numerous different spellings of Isabel which could potentially bother you as well

still imo the name Isabel is nicer though lol

melpomene · 17/04/2009 21:03

Isabel.

I am surprised to hear people say Isabel is more popular; I've come across several little Abbies but never an Isabel.

Candlewax · 17/04/2009 21:05

I love Isabel.

Bubbaloo · 17/04/2009 21:08

I prefer Isobel, but very popular around here at the moment, which would put me off a little.

Jenbot · 17/04/2009 21:10

There are lots of baby Isabels around here too, so I'd probably go for Abigail, but they're both pretty names.

jellybeans · 17/04/2009 22:47

Isabel Rose

rationalist · 17/04/2009 23:16

A friend of mine's DD is called Isobel Rose, but tbh, I prefer Abigail.

wishingwellofhope · 17/04/2009 23:23

Abigail - Abi for short (never Abbey or similar)

LaDiDaDi · 17/04/2009 23:23

Isobel Rose, dd's middle name is Isobel and I love it though Abigail is lovely too.

changename1 · 18/04/2009 10:37

abigail rose

mrsgboring · 18/04/2009 10:43

Abigail Rose There are millions of Isabels and also so many variant spellings, she will have to spell her first name for the rest of her life.

pranma · 18/04/2009 11:08

Abigail

morethanyoubargainfor · 18/04/2009 11:12

Abigail

lunamoon2 · 18/04/2009 17:00

Both are lovely, think Abigail is slightly less popular and agree with lotspot about the spelling being more tricky for Isabel.

Isabel is the most common girl's name nowadays (including all the variant spellings).
Abigail is quite uncommon, I have an Isabel for family reasons but if we didn't have that reason I'd have chosen a less common name.
