  1. How much you love it?
  1. How popular it is?

Would you be put off a name you love because its popular or would you use it regardless?

And if you were put off, why does a popular name bother you?

Just curious

i just went for a name that caused that tingle in your tummy and the tug of your heart that you can picture will fit every age, suit any personality and any futre profession.
I think you just know it when you hear it/ see them.
hope that helps?

It depends on the area you live in also, doesn't it?. Heather may be very unusual in some parts of England, which is fine if you intend to stay there for the rest of your/her life. Up here however, Heather is a very common name...

But so what if you have to be called Heather P? It's no big deal!

No 1 definaetly!

It would only put me off if close relatives ie neices/nephews or friends had chosen the same name for their child. Or, as was the case when I was pregnant with ds, if lots of children in close proximity to where I live had that name.

The most important thing for me when choosing a name is that the majority of MNers hate it
