What do you think of the biblical boys name Jethro? Do you prefer Jett or Jeth for short?

I agree.
There isn't a sensible nickname - so get used to Jethro.

Jethro is a great name (on the list for dc5), and agree with pp - the nn are rubbish, just use Jethro, its not like its a really long name that needs to be shortened for ease of use!

Leannabanana · 16/04/2009 20:27

don't like it really....i would call him Jay for NN as otherwise it will end up like Jeff which i really do not like. What about the biblical name Josiah - Jed for short....my nephew is called this and its a really cool name imo

beanieb · 16/04/2009 20:34

My brother is called Jethro, ignores the silly name comment, and is called Jeth for short by family and friends - though people in school (he's in his late 30's btw) sometimes used to call him 'Jeff' which he didn't really like I don't think.

He also gets called 'Jet' sometimes.

Wheelybug · 16/04/2009 20:38

I have a good friend called Jethro - it is shortened to Jet.

I have known him for over 20 years and it never occurred to me that it was seen as a silly name by some until recently because I'd known my friend for so long IYSWIM.

cutekids · 16/04/2009 20:39

Was gonna say Jet too.Nice though.

cutekids · 16/04/2009 20:40

LetThemEatCake · 19/04/2009 20:18

Lio · 19/04/2009 20:20

I love the name and would avoid shortening it.

mummyloveslucy · 19/04/2009 20:20

I always think of the comedien Jethro.

He's fantastic, I love him.

Milly6 · 23/04/2009 12:19
