Alfie?

A name my DH likes. I don't mind it as a nn but I'm not keen on Alfred. DH says Alfie can go on the birth certificate which I really don't want as Alfie is a nn as far as I'm concerned.

Is Alfie just short for Alfred or are there other names we could consider?

Where do you stand on the nn on birth certificates and do you like Alfie?

Ignore this thread.

I've just searched the archives and it seems Alfred is very popular which rules it out for me

I think nn type names are just as common as 'formal' names these days. Alfie is OK, very very popular though, don't like Alfred at all, very old man.
