Archie?

Trying to flush out any bad connotations.
I think it's quite cute but hopefully dignified enough for adult life too. I've never known any Archies before which helps. When I was a child I used to think Archibald was the most ridiculous and hilarious name ever - it's funny how things change! No doubt DH will hate it anyway. But, never mind him(!), whaddya think.......?

Do you watch Eastenders?

mishymoo · 03/04/2009 10:48

I like it! My DS goes to nursery with an Archie!

Lol at iloverosycheks!

PrimulaVeris · 03/04/2009 10:57

Blimey ya didn't see the 'Enders weddin' last night, guv?

tummytickler · 03/04/2009 12:50

Dont like it I am afraid - there are loads of them in my area and my son goes to school with an adorable one. But i find it sooooo dreadfully dull.
Cant comment on Eastenders though as i dont watch it.

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 03/04/2009 12:58

to me Archie isn't really a name, sorry, and Archibald is, as you felt in your childhood days kinda ridiculous and hilarious....sorry....

LetThemEatCake · 03/04/2009 13:21

I'm not a fan, sorry. I know a few Archies (all in the under-5 age group) and really don't think it's a good name.

Sorry to be negative

think it's quite a good name for a dog, though

How about Archer!!?? much more, umm, manly.

LetThemEatCake · 03/04/2009 13:23

ARCHER!!!!

I hadn't even thought of it for my dc before but think I may have just hit on something!!!

MakemineaGandT · 03/04/2009 13:25

yes but I immediately think of Geoffrey......

LetThemEatCake · 03/04/2009 13:26

Ah, but we're Aussie. Wouldn't register in the wider consciousness I don't think.

anyway, am hijacking. Sorry.

ohdearwhatamess · 03/04/2009 13:33

Not keen. Lots of them round here.

pranma · 03/04/2009 16:42

Archie Andrews was a ventriloquists dummy

kittykat21 · 03/04/2009 16:46

My DS middle name is Archie, i really like it but probably wouldnt have it as a first name.

jellybeans · 03/04/2009 19:52

Don't like it, too old manish and of the moment.
