I would say excellent choice of name... I called my DS2 Isaac... He's gonna be 1 on 16th April...

x

Sheeta · 02/04/2009 15:19

I love Isaac but DP wouldn't go for it.

CoteDAzur · 02/04/2009 15:20

Not Issac, though, right?

ButtercupWafflehead · 02/04/2009 15:22

Love it!

(spelled Isaac)

cazzaben · 02/04/2009 15:22

Oh just realised the spelling, Its pronounced the same isn't it?? My sister has alwyas spelt Isaac's name like Issac. I guess its all about preference.

yellowflowers · 02/04/2009 15:45

Love it - and Zac as short version. I love it, dh doesn't like Zac though

shortshafe · 02/04/2009 19:46

Isaac - my ds is 8 months and a beautiful Isaac! LOTS of people struggle with the spelling though - have Issac, Isacc, Isack etc. I went for traditional spelling as I'm not keen on non standard spellings.

People who aren't keen on Isaac tend to call him Zac, doesn't bother me at all but be aware that people do shorten it very readily.

QuackQuackQuackQuack · 02/04/2009 19:48

Spelt it wrong

May have a problem with it as my nephew is called Zak, hadnt considered the nickname - damm I really liked Isaac

nice. How about Isaiah? no abbrev to Zac then?

lal07 · 02/04/2009 19:53

Ike is also nickname for Isaac - my DS's cousins call him that - v sweet. Is a great name

pavlovthepregnantcat · 02/04/2009 19:54

I love it, but know many of them now.

teafortwo · 02/04/2009 19:56

Lovely name - it is my dhs "If ever we decide to......" name.

Could your Isaac be called Ike for short if there is a Zac in the family already... it would make life less confusing?

archiejia · 02/04/2009 20:17

My Isaac has always been known as Issy - more trad a girls nickname I know, but he is one cool 2 1/2 year old dude.

cazzaben · 03/04/2009 00:04

Hey my Isaac is also called issy or my name for him is my little Issey Iss (pronounced eyesy eyes) I just love his name and it suits him down to the ground... It was a choice between Isaac or Elliott but he definately isn't an Elliott

dinkymum · 03/04/2009 00:25

my isaac is ise (eyesy) - loads of people spell it 'wrong' as Issac, Isak etc. but as it's getting more popular, this happens less.
It means he laughs in Hebrew...and ours laughs a lot!
There are quite a few around though!

lal07 · 03/04/2009 19:24

Cazzaben that's spooky - my Isaac was a choice between Isaac and Elliott Xmas Smile

Cazzaben · 03/04/2009 19:55

How weird!!! They are both beautiful names though x

jendave · 16/04/2009 10:51

We call our Isaac "Ipie" and he sometimes gets "Ike", I wont let anyone call him Zac though, I hate that.

Jaypickle · 01/05/2009 10:20

Issac is actually a different name, not just a wrong spelling, its a corruption of Itzhak.

thumbwitch · 01/05/2009 10:25

jayp, QQQ has said she spelt it wrong in thread title so I think she meant Isaac.

it's ok, I wouldn't have it myself but it's a nice name.

Jaypickle · 01/05/2009 10:37

Yeah I thought so, I was just clarifying it was a seperate name as well.

DS2 was nearly Isaac, but with our accent all the family mangled it, and it sounded awful!

muddyboots · 06/05/2009 14:36

Really like it, had decided on Isaac for next baby but had my 20 week scan yesterday and... I don't think it'll suit her!

FrankMustard · 06/05/2009 14:37

yes, Isaac's a great name. Know two Isaacs - one adult, one 8yrs old - and they're both really nice people!
