I love that name!! Not come across any around here recently

WinkyWinkola · 02/04/2009 12:41

I'm hearing it everywhere too. I love it though and if I had another DD would use it but would call her Betty. Is that weird?

gemmummy · 02/04/2009 12:41

i like that, not heard it around my way.

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 02/04/2009 12:42

It is becoming more popular recently - but still not very common. I would go for it, she is still likely to be the only Eliza in her school!

RachieB · 02/04/2009 14:13

Don't know of any round here

brainturnedtoporridge · 02/04/2009 16:03

Beautiful name. I'm sure it is becoming more popular but isn't v common yet.

ohdearwhatamess · 02/04/2009 16:04

Lovely!

The only one I know is 36 years old.

loobylu3 · 02/04/2009 20:42

Lovely name!

thell · 03/04/2009 11:28

Ooh, I love that name!! [sigh]
I thought it was becoming popular a few years ago, but I haven't met any for ages. I don't think it's that common.

Winky, I think that's a bit odd, but not so strange that you shouldn't do it!! I know a little girl known as Daisy because her middle name is Marguerite. A bit complicated, but who cares?

shanks313 · 03/04/2009 11:37

DD1 has Eliza as one of her middle names...I havent heard anyone called it around here.

FairLadyOfMuslinCloth · 03/04/2009 11:46

Beautyful name....have not come across any little Eliza's, so, can't comment on how hip it is right now...

TsarChasm · 03/04/2009 11:48

Lovely!

It could take off in popularity though.I know of a baby Eliza

boogeek · 03/04/2009 11:51

I know one, she's 5. I think it is likely to take off but you might just get in first. It's lovely and on my short list if I ever have another DD.

tummytickler · 03/04/2009 13:32

I know two - one of 8 and one of 5.
Lovely name, but might be rising in popularity, so if that would bother you i would play it safe and avoid it.

Bettymum · 03/04/2009 13:36

Lovely. There is one at DD's nursery who must be about 18 months old (and DD is Elizabeth so technically I could call her Eliza for short ).

MarmMummy · 03/04/2009 13:49

Love it!!!

Was one of out top 3 choices for DD, along with Elizabeth and the name we caled her

Like the name but would be worried she might be called Liz which I don't like. I'm looking for a name for DC2 that would go with DD1's (Eva) which this would. Would love a boy this time but have a feeling it will be another girl. I have loads of boys names I like but really struggle with girls' names.

Wheelybug · 03/04/2009 16:55

Love it - was my choice for dd2 but DH couldn't be persuaded as he was worried about it being shortened.

angrypixie · 03/04/2009 17:01

Love it and dc 3 would have been Eliza, but seemed a bit of an odd choice for a boy!!!

Do it!

piscesmoon · 03/04/2009 17:01

I think it is lovely-I also like Liz so shortening wouldn't worry me.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2009 18:29

love it

my dc 6yr is called that

ellingwoman · 03/04/2009 18:44

Lovely. I'm jealous. I wanted to call dd2 Eliza but I was shouted down. Still regret it 14 years later. Go for it!

ForeverOptimistic · 03/04/2009 18:46

Lovely name. Very popular around here.

schmu · 03/04/2009 18:48

yay! love it. tis dd2's middle name but i thought of it in a morphine -induced- post c-section- stupour and wasnt brave enought to go for it as a first name, but kinda regret it as it would suit her so well as a first name.
