I'd go for something short and sweet like Anne. I like May too

mumnosbest · 01/04/2009 18:19

Great minds...

MrsHappy · 01/04/2009 18:20

I like short ones too.

Rose/Rosa and Kate are nice.

LaDiDaDi · 01/04/2009 18:21

Rose
Anne
May
Jane

Beatrice Eveline
Beatrice Lucinda
Beatrice Miranda

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 01/04/2009 18:21

Beatrice Elle (not ella)
Beatrice Anne (very regal)
Beatrice May
Beatrice Joy
Beatrice Jane

loujay · 01/04/2009 18:21

Elizabeth
Aurora

silverfrog · 01/04/2009 18:23

I think longer names can work too

Beatrice Cecily is nice

traceybath · 01/04/2009 18:23

Can't be ann as thats my middle name and i irrationally loathe it.

Think may will be the winner. Also surname begins with a D and am slightly wary on initials spelling BED or BAD.

We've got Beatrice Amelia and it works for us.

MrsHappy · 01/04/2009 18:58

I take it back. It goes with everything (except perhaps names beginning with 's' or a soft 'c').
I particularly like Verity and Elizabeth.

piscesmoon · 01/04/2009 19:03

Beatrice Amelia sounds nice.

Northernlurker · 01/04/2009 19:09

pisces My Beatrice Amelia is nice

I think it's a great name - Bea is such a sweet short and am confident that if she wants to be Prime Minister or whatever she's got a name that will stand up to it.

Obviously I'll be highly annoyed if everyone starts using it.......

piscesmoon · 01/04/2009 19:38

Im sure she is Northernlurker.

I looked down the list and thought it was the nicest choice-you would have to just watch the initials with the surname. You wouldn't want someone calling her an 'old bat', when she is older, with the initials etc.

traceybath · 01/04/2009 19:43

I do love the name beatrice - was secretly hoping this one would be a girl so got to use that name.

Especially as some of my boys names were mocked on here .

Think it will be Beatrice May which will please my family. And am less inclined to please mil as when i said if a girl would be beatrice she said 'well there's time to change your mind' - hmmmmmm . . .

Beatrice Emily
Beatrice Violet

My Gran's (twin)sister was Beatrice Adelaide. They did have a very short surname though.

I think it's a great name. Adelaide is very dated now but Beatrice is lovely especially if you have lots of family connections to it.

My poor Gran got lumbered with Edith and a misspelt middlename.
