Zephyrus for a boy? are we just being silly now?

dh really likes it. I quite like it. Could still shorten to Zephy (which is one o f the reasons I like Zephaniah) and would go well with Alexander, which I like as a middle name. Also has mythological overtones. which is always a drawcard for me, and works well with dd and ds (Phoenix and Cassian - I know Cassian is not a myth character as such, but I can imagine a winged horse or a king in a myth called Cassian ... but hey ho)

So. Are we being daft?

I prefer Zephaniah.

I like Zephyr (friend called his son this 20 years ago). In fact, I like it A LOT better than Cassius.
But Zephyrus sounds silly to my ears.

Cassian is a saints name. Prefer Severus to Zephyrus - roman emperor (or Harry potter link if yo uprefer!). Zephania might look odd unless your family has W Indian origins
