Elijah - i don't mind but not crazy about it. Just seems a bit too biblical.

Isaac - Good name. Increasingly popular though.

Noah - my favoruite of your boys. Cool name

Daniel & Benjamin - ok. safe, bit boring

Jared - No. Chavvy

Arthur - I like. Like Art too.

Bethany - No, again a bit chavvy

Stella - I really like. Pretty, feminine name.

Jemima - bit posh n poncey

suwoo · 27/03/2009 16:55

Love Stella but not sure I could do it with the lager connection. Jemima I like too. Arthur is top of my list for DS2 and DS1 is called Noah. The others I'm a lot less keen on.

pointydog · 27/03/2009 17:12

elijah - no

noah - no (ah)
Daniel - a good name but so popular I don't hear its sound any more
Jared - no
arthur - no

bethany - no

stella - yes, I love it
jemeima - no

Elijah's nice - Eli is a pretty cool nickname

Isaac and Noah are alright but a bit neither here nor there

Daniel is nice but fairly common if that bothers you

Benjamin I love love love - must admit I much prefer it as Benjamin rather than the inevitable Ben

Jared doesn't really do anything for me at all - sorry

Arthur is nice but no doubt going to blend into the hoards of Alfies and Archies

Bethany has been tainted by the mean Bethany up the road when I was a child lol - prefer Elizabeth if you were looking at the Beth nn

Stella is pretty, but yes possibly spoilt by Artois

Jemima I love too know a lovely one who is about 10

pointydog · 27/03/2009 17:19

oh benjamin. Yes, that's alright

pointydog · 27/03/2009 17:19

ben and stella. Deff

pointydog · 27/03/2009 17:19

or dan and stella

janeite · 27/03/2009 17:25

Love Noah and Benjamin. Don't mind Isaac. Don't like the other boys' names, especially Jared.

None of the girls' names do it for me really.

roxanne08 · 27/03/2009 17:29

isaac and jemima

screamingabdab · 27/03/2009 17:47

Yes to:

Elijah (Eli)
Isaac (on my list)
Daniel (good solid name)
Stella (pretty)

No to:

Jemima (sorry, too "posh")
Bethany (I really uses to like it, but now too common)

What about Elizabeth (lots of shortenings :Beth, Betty, Elle, etc)

Supercherry · 27/03/2009 17:53

Thank you for the opinions so far- Jared chavvy though? I just think Jared Leto- gorgeous. Jemima, posh? I don't usually like posh names and didn't think of it as posh. Just think it sounds pretty. They're all off a biblical name website with the exception of Stella and all have nice meanings.

My DSs name begins with a J, so would it be wise to have a sibling also beginning with letter J? Or is that too much alliteration?

OP posts:
janeite · 27/03/2009 17:57

Personally I would avoid alliteration but that's just me!

TheJester · 27/03/2009 17:59

Daniel (allegedly #6, never met one though)
Jemima

Supercherry · 27/03/2009 18:10

I like Elizabeth Screamingabdab but one of my close friends is an Elizabeth and it would just seem wrong. No logic here, just how I feel.

Well i have an arthur so think thats a lovely name.

Jemima also very sweet - what about martha if a girl?

Funnybunnyyumyum · 28/03/2009 20:35

Love Stella. It's my favourite name for my 3rd, due in a week. Hope it's a girl so i can use it! Have considered it might sound a bit chavvy but then i think of Stella Tennant and Stella McCartney and think it's fine.
