OK, Now we're sure we're having a girl, we have two names:

  1. Millie
* Emily * Millicent
  1. Martha

It's just for fun, really, because we won't decide until she's born, but which one would you go for? (or suggest another!!!!)

Middle names:
Grace / Kate / Alice (only one, obviously!)

Thanks, HM

Dont go for Emily Grace...beautiful though it is, she would be an E.G.. Would you want your daughter to be made an example of?

BonsoirAnna · 31/03/2009 14:37

Millicent shortened to Millie is the name I like best from your (very) shortlist!

But Millicent doesn't go with either Grace or Alice (as there would be too many soft c sounds), and I don't like Kate as it is a nickname.

Millie is super popular, as others have pointed out.

Well I like Emily - my daughter is Emily - and strangely enough we were going to call her Emily Grace, but she looked like just an "Emily". That was 32 years ago! All the nurses went ga ga as they'd never had an Emily. Then a few months later Esther Rantzen called her new daughter Emily, and the game was up! There was only ever 1 Emily at my daughter's primary school, and 2 at secondary.
How times change!

feedthegoat · 31/03/2009 21:51

My DS was going to be Emily Grace if had been a girl.

Hulababy · 31/03/2009 21:52

I love the name Martha, so that would be my first choice.

Martha Grace

I prefer Emily to Millicent/

popsycal · 31/03/2009 21:56

martha alice
ds2 would hav been martha

ScottishThistle · 31/03/2009 22:07

Love Martha!

Martha Grace is a fabulous name.

RainbowLady · 31/03/2009 22:14

Emily Grace sounds good to me.

popsypie · 01/04/2009 18:38

I have a beautiful Emily. It is musical and suits her well. It is popular, but as long as you have your little Emily then who cares. The little girl who owns the shop on Bagpuss is called Emily - my little one loves watching it!! Emily Grace gets my vote. good luck choosing. PS: My little one is Emily Rebecca x

fruitshootsnweaveseasterbasket · 01/04/2009 18:40

I have an Emily too. Emily's are great

mumnosbest · 01/04/2009 18:43

I love Alice but don't think it goes with Millie which would be my other favourite

MrsWeasley · 01/04/2009 18:46

Millie, Emily, and Amelia are all quite common popular around our schools so I would go for Martha

I have an Emily Grace - she's almost 12 now, and has never had the EG comment, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Leannabanana · 01/04/2009 20:11

Martha Kate

SIANYWARNY · 01/04/2009 20:22

Martha Kate.......I like it a lot x

Linwin · 01/04/2009 21:04

Oh no, not Martha. Its my name and I have been teased about it from childhood all the way through to adulthood. I was named after my granny, ok name for granny but not for a young child

I'd probably go for Millie. But Amelia/Millie. If I had an Emily I'd just call her Emily

gibbberish · 01/04/2009 21:13

Millie I think... but like Pointy would just use Emily (my fave of the lot)

QueenFee · 01/04/2009 21:15

haven't read the whole thread but it's Millie Grace for me

troutpout · 01/04/2009 21:34

noooo not martha
you don't want to be doing that

Tarasgang · 01/04/2009 21:43

I have a Katie, Tilly and and Emily so I think I would go for Millie Kate

Tidey · 01/04/2009 21:49

Millie, short for Emilia, then you don't have to choose between Emily and Amelia. If you see what I mean.

And Grace is a lovely middle name, I would have used it for my DD but DP hated it

dcoppack · 01/04/2009 21:50

Loads of Millies around so a no, unfortunatly, Amelia is now on that vein too (even though my own child is called that). Martha sounds like she shouls be wearing old lady tights. Like Emily Grace though x
