I like it, but Clio reminds me too much of Renault, sorry.

Mercedes is another "car" name, come to think of it. Doesn't stop plenty of people from using it

Mercedes is a very traditional and well used Spanish name too though, OP. So less obscure than Clio.

Kwini, I was desperate to use Cleo for DD3 but DH just could not see past the renault association

I love it, I think you'll come up against some stupid comments if you use it but as long as you're prepared for that then go for it

we used a name more predominantly used for a boy for DD3 so we still get the comments anyway!!

You still get away with Megan... and that's also a car...so why NOT Clio? Tis cute.

thank you, a lot of people don't like it. It is her middle name so there is no confusion on forms etc but we love it and it suits her

still love Cleo though and it would have gone perfectly with our other two girls

I'm relatively used to stupid comments - some people have asked if I was named after a hat, as they've never heard of the literary character that is my actual namesake. A little annoying, but as spicemonster says, it's their ignorance. I love my unusual name

Just thought of another 'car' name that's very popular for the auto lovers out there - Sienna. Personally, I'd think of Sienna Miller before I thought of the car.

Just goes to show that if the little 'un grows up to do something special, there's no saying she won't become the new popular connotation ;)

my mum has just had a baby girl and called her kia and tahts a car so i dont think it matters what ever name you choose its going to remind someone of something ..

I love Clio - it was on the list in case ds was a girl, and in line with the classical theme, Penelope was also on the list.
