Ever since my youngest was born nearly 7 months ago, i have been OBSESSING that I have given him the wrong name.

dd loves his name, ds1 loves his name, dh loves his name.

But I just can't seem to put a proper full stop on it and forget it.

Does it ever get easier? Am i destined to forever think, I should have called you....?

Has anyone been through anything similar?

I know how you feel little missworryhead. I feel terrible writing this but i have never got used to my DD's name and she is nearly 5!
I did not know anyone with this name and it was only 1 of 2 names that my DH and i agreed on. I have wished everyday since her birth that we had called her the other name. I have since met LOADS of adults and children with the same name and hate the way some people pronounce it. I do not think I will ever get over this-maybes I need counseling too!!!
Your DS is still young-I think you must change his name now-do not be like me and regret it every day!!

We had some antenatal class friends who named their newborn in a hurry as she was not expected to live, after the nurse in NICU. She did live and they changed her name by deed poll 16 months later. You can add "baptismal" names to his birth certificate within the first year, which would give you leeway to call him by that other name if you wanted. Alternatively, give him a nickname and call him by that! All three of ours have at least one nickname and are widely known by them as much as by their own first name. In fact their cousin at 9 didn't even know his cousin's proper first name, only her nickname!
