We're thinking of naming our baby this. What do you think, would you think of the cricket connection? Does it matter?
Other options are Sidney or Simian.

I shall assume that you are being silly

esselle · 05/03/2009 05:59

As in Jiminy Crickey???

Now that is just plain silly imo!!

esselle · 05/03/2009 06:00

Bugger I meant Jiminy Cricket...

GossipMonger · 05/03/2009 06:13

Dont be ridiculous!

Jiminy is awful

Sidney - not my choice

Simian is spelt wrong as it should be Simeon which is a nice name.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/03/2009 06:50

you do know that simian means 'ape like'?!

dinkymum · 05/03/2009 10:27

I like Sidney

MerryMarigold · 05/03/2009 10:49

No way! Definitely Jiminy Cricket. And it does matter!

Simeon is nice spellt like that.

Sidney...hmmmm...it's ok. I quite like Sid, just 'cos of Cbeebies Sid!

mumoftoby · 05/03/2009 11:00

Simeon is lovely!

lastboxoftampons · 05/03/2009 11:30

I prefer Sidney out of those on your list - although I think it's becoming more popular as a girl's name than boys.

Jiminy is definitely a cricket, sorry! Also, you'll likely get people constantly confusing it for Jimmy. What about Jeremy instead?

2Helenback · 05/03/2009 11:31

I'm sorry, but considering an insect or a monkey as names for your child must mean a rush of hormones previously not known to womankind. I too have had hormone induced name insanity blips, and I only say this bluntly to be kind!

2Helenback · 05/03/2009 11:31

Oh yes, love Sidney though!
