still struggling with girls names

Latest suggestion from DH is Alice but we have a niece called Alison - are these too similar.

Other names being considered are:

Niamh (DH finally accepted that people can learn how to spell and pronounce it)

Maeve - suggested by DH - he didn't go for the traditional spelling 'Maedbh'

I like Sophie but DH had an ex with this name so won't consider it

We have also considered Lucy - I'm not to sure about this

I quite like Clara - DH doesn't

To give you a further idea of the types of names we like DD is Hannah and we are almost decided that if we have a DS he will be Adam.

So with that, what other names can you suggest to further confuse me?

I think a good measure of a name is how much the person named that likes it - I'm not keen on my own name. My DD however appears to be happy with the choice we made for her and has suggested it for the new baby (may be a bit confusing ). She has also caleld lots of teddies and dolls by her name - I don't think I ever did that.

LOL Purlease - My DS (4) wants us to give our new baby the same name as him! I asked him why and he said that then when I call him he can make baby come instead of him

I have a Saffron which is never suggested on here. Dont know if thats because it is not very common or because no one likes it but i think its beautiful.

Yep nailpolish - Niamh and Maeve are most definitely one syllable - not sure how they got on the list. I think DH suggested those to keep me happy that he would consider Irish names. One syllable would probably work - surname has 3 syllables.

I have so many girls names as I have 2 boys. Nuala and Lana are 2 girls names I love with 2 syllables.

I love Clara too!

Girl name if DS1 had been DD1 - Lana
Girl name if DS2 had been DD2 - Romily (Lana just didn't feel right for that pregnancy)

i was adament that if i ever had another girl she'd be called Ophelia.
