not too sure about girl choices maybe Alta as a middle name as i'm all for middle names with meanings, for boys Magnus and Dexter are nice!

Ouch. That's pretty tough. I hope that you either find another a girls name that you like much much more, or have a boy, because I wouldn't want you feeling sad once your little one is here.

Here is a link to my favourite name site for Swedish names, some of which I was quite surprised by like Cecilia www.behindthename.com/nmc/swe.php

I'm slightly ashamed to say that I like the really Norse names, like Brunhild and Gudrun, but I'm not sure if I'd ever use one. However we have used an Old English name for our son, and I think it is cool to have a name with history.

Of your names Anselm is excellently unusual, and I like Anouska too.

Well, I like some of your choices, but I am biased!

I would be so very cross with your brother too

On our list this time were:
Cecily Margot
Beatrix
Aurelia

What about
Ilse
Ingrid
Greta

Thorsten
Linus
Karsten
?

Flamesparrow · 23/02/2009 10:34

@ your brother!

Agree with Dexter - serial killer. (which is bad because I hadn't thought of it til someone mentioned it the other day, and I have a new baby in the family called Dexter).

Anouska I love

Magnus - I like this. Also like Fergus and Angus.
Dexter - ok, sounds like a baddie from supermand. What about lennox ?
Flint - no.
Anselm - no.

and

Alta - no, it's a word in spanish and I can't get beyond that.
Anouska - quite like this. best on your girls list.
Uma - no yuck. Uma thurman. I've always pitied her that disgusting and weird name.

Magnus and Anouska definitely. I also like Agneska (sp) and Nina and Elsa and Jeannie which might appeal to your style?

nooka · 24/02/2009 02:44

Nina is cool
