Girls name debate

Hi
I am due my 6th (and most definately final) dd in 3 weeks and dh and i can't agree on a name.

He wants Amillee but i am not keen - especially that spelling. and we already have a Emmie and think its too similar.

Another name on the list was Morgan untill this name appeared in a pariticularly chavvy family in a well known british soap.

Any opinions on the Amillee thing or any other names?
Our other girls are Alyssa, Ava, Matilda, Emmie and Alexis if that makes a difference

Amelie the 'usual' spelling is lovely and would go well with your other 5 names.

have to agree that I am not keen on the spelling of Amillee

plenty of people don't watch soaps, so don't let that put you off necessarily.

do you have any others you like?

I wouldn't go for the Amillee spelling either. I'd have thought Alyssa and Alexis are quite simlar too? Amelie or Amelia would be better, or what about Ariane or Amy?

mrsnoname · 17/02/2009 23:17

Not keen on the spelling either. But that aside, I think you would have too many names beginning with a vowel (especially 'A'). In that respect, Morgan would have been ideal...shame about the soap.

flaqui · 22/02/2009 22:39

Dont like Morgan. Amilee nice but similar to Emmie. Like Ava and Matilda.

juneybean · 23/02/2009 01:15

Agree too many A's already and this comes from someone who has had to crowd round an envelope that has J Surname with no miss, mrs, mr on it.

You have very girly names so what about Elizabeth or Margaret? Or Lilith.

MrsMattie · 23/02/2009 09:27

Your names are nice. Amelie is OK. Amilee is awful.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 23/02/2009 09:42

Amelie is (I think) the French version of Emily, so Amelie and Emmie would in effect have the same name. The soap opera family will probably have emigrated/been buried under the patio/been beamed up by aliens within a year or so, so don't be deterred from using Morgan if that's your preferred name.

Or how about Lucy?

Lulubee · 23/02/2009 18:15

How about Emilia? Amilee just looks like a chavvy way of spelling Amelie, which in itself is a lovely name, but I agree with the 'too many A's' comment posted before. Or if you want something similar to Morgan, what about Morwenna? Or Rowan? Or Rowena?
