As it says in the title really it is to go with a Poppy.

Crap. She will be teased no end as a child and as an adult people will still snigger. Sorry.

TheFallenMadonna · 13/02/2009 18:48

Nooooo.

onebatmother · 13/02/2009 18:50

Unh-uh.

Holly instead? Nice combo with Poppy.
Rose/Rosie?
Fleur?

differentCupID · 13/02/2009 18:50

Er, no.

janeite · 13/02/2009 18:51

Nope. Poppy is sweet; Berry is silly imho.

How about Posey? Or Lily? Or Daisy? Or Rose? Or Violet?

Nicki10 · 13/02/2009 18:52

I wanted to use Daisy but 5 different people have said to me oh like the Olivers?!

Er no because I like the names

No. Just no. T'is worse than Apple or Clementine. Unless you are a schleb or expect to become one v soon there is no way that your dd will be able to pull that name off.

Holly is nice though.

Hate holly I'm afraid, like Lily but a bit common now and same thing with Rosie.

I met someone who had a 4 year old daughter called Berry that's what got me thinking.

MitchyInge · 13/02/2009 18:53

how about sorrel?

TheFallenMadonna · 13/02/2009 19:04

Does it have to be botanical?

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 13/02/2009 19:05

Ivy? Violet?

pointydog · 13/02/2009 19:06

Beret?

pointydog · 13/02/2009 19:06

I love Rowan for a girl

muffle · 13/02/2009 19:11

Berry can be short for Berengaria which I really like - it's a name that medieval queens and princesses used to have.

Or Beryl, Berenice or Bernadette.

muffle · 13/02/2009 19:12

Agree Rowan is lovely, and would go very well with Poppy. You could even call her Rowan Berengaria (Berry for short).

steviesgirl · 13/02/2009 19:28

Berry is ridiculous.

Moondancer · 13/02/2009 19:41

Berry - oh dear!!

lovelylullaby · 13/02/2009 19:45

What about Cherry?

changer22 · 13/02/2009 19:52

I like Berry.

It would be fine where we live.

I also like Betsy...

Neena28 · 13/02/2009 19:53

I know a Berry...sorry but awful name...all friends and family were horrified.

Some of the other names on here are lovely. And bear in mind that all fashions and associations pass. My ds is named the same as a famous person and when he was first born the man was quite notorious as a drinker and general twat. Got asked no end up until he was about 1, he's now 8 and I haven't been asked for years as this person is now little heard about although everyone would still know who the famous one. Flipping heck I hope that makes some sense?!

In 5 or 10 years time who will really remember what Jamie Oliver called his kids!

wasaconventgirl · 13/02/2009 20:50

Holly Berry?

wasaconventgirl · 13/02/2009 20:52

Love Betsy.

noonki · 13/02/2009 21:11

our cat is called Berry and tbh I find that embarrassing enough (named by a 7 year old).

and everyone says;

whats your cat called

'berry'

'Bury '

no like 'blackberry'...

'oh '

your daughter will hate you.

sorry

MrsMattie · 13/02/2009 21:13

I would have said 'Hell NO' until a friend recently called her baby Berry. It really suits her and has grown on me no end.
