DD3 needs a name. Have we used up all the good ones on DD1 and 2?!

DD3 will arrival this summer. DH and I racked our brains for a good name, but so far - zip.

DD1 is Mollie Ava
DD2 is Liberty Violet

Our surname is long and is shared with older Brit actor called Pete P..... he's currently doing something thespy at the Old/New Vic (can't remember which one).

I love Cecily (Cece), Beatrice (Bea) and Ophelia (Felie or Fifi). And as you can see have an annoying need to shorten names!

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Isla or Iona?
And another vote for Florence

I also like Cecily and it's on my list but with your surname that's a lot of s-es and th-s to get your tongue around...

Claudia or Clara also nice.

dizzydixies · 02/02/2009 19:34

Amelie or Amelia

sweetkitty · 02/02/2009 19:36

hey georgie congrats on DD3 all the best people have a trio of girls you know

we felt the same with DD3 didn't want her to have a cast off name from the other two

I have two with an ee sound but it works quite well as have an a in the middle

oh what the heck we have
Abigail Sadie (Abbie)
Talia Erin
Bethany Anna Grace

I think an -a endind would be nice
Thea is lovely
Saskia
Sasha
Eva
Matilda
Isabella (Bella/Belle)

sweetkitty · 02/02/2009 19:37

oh hello dizzy x-posts fancy meeting you here

ramonaquimby · 02/02/2009 19:50

also have 3 girls, 2 end in 'ah' sound - would be a bit twee to have all ending in 'ie/y' sound I agree!

some lovely names here
what about Mabel? tis seriously underrated

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 02/02/2009 19:59

Ah, thank you one and all. There's some really lovely names there. It's certainly given me something to think about.

I think I'll put a short list together from all of them and then present it to DH. That way I know 'we'll' choose one that we like!!!

Funnily enough, my bump has been christened 'Tedwood' or 'Tedders' by DD2. Have no idea why. So it'd be cool to call her Theodora shortened to Teddy.

Cecily and Beatrice are both lovely names but I agree to many 'ie' sounds.
Something ending in a would be perfect. Iris and Esther also lovely.

Hello Kitty. How's things going with your three kittens?

This name thing is fraught with potential pitfalls isn't it?!

Love the suggestions but great friend just had a Saskia, another friend got an Isabella, don't think I could have a Matilda (Tilly) with M and L and Eva too close to M's middle name.

I know we'll stumble over something soon. It's not as if there's any rush . Just me being Type A anal retentive!!

Love your dd's names [smiles]

I like Claudia, Tabitha, Florence, Martha and Beatrice

sweetkitty · 03/02/2009 14:45

We are all great thank you Georgie

I know it is really difficult, I have the opposite problem to you our surname is really short one syllable (spp I never get it right) anyway short names don't sound right and we were looking for a longer 3 syllable name for DD3, that could be shortened as well, not too close to DD1 and 2's names. Nothing that I liked DP liked and vice versa, then one day out the blue someone said I like Beth, Bethan and Bethany and I thought so do I told DP and he was like that's the one. Hadn't really thought about it before that, it will happen like that for you one will just "jump" out at you!

I really like
Claudia
Olivia
Romilly (but that the -ee sound you want to avoid)
Erin
Caitlin
Alice
Emma
Serena
Megan
Elizabeth nn Beth

There's some great suggestions coming today. Thank you.

Not sure if this was a wise idea. Am very excited now and have still got 365 months to go . Well it seems like it. 'Only' another 5 months before I see what this LO looks like.

I wonder whether DH will go for Florence, Claudia or Megan?
