Boys:

Aaron, clever, likes computers and chemistry but NOT a geek.
Arthur, cool, surfs, looks scruffy and a bit retro.
Lucas, nice enough guy, one of the mainstream.
Malachy, tall, sporty but not a traditionally macho bloke, maybe likes hockey or basketball.

Girls:

Cara, pretty and sweet, uses it to get what she wants but doesn't alienate women.
Lucy, shy, unadventurous, desperate to break free and be cool.
Marian, very neat writing and tidy clothes, doesn't like getting messy.
Zoe, fun, lkes to do lots of activities, has lots of friends but no best friend.

paddingtonbore · 30/01/2009 16:42

Aaron: in training for a ASBO
Arthur: David Cameron's son. Nuff said
Lucas: Tall, bit scruffy, but not in a bad way. Likes tinkering with things
Malachy: grows hair long like Laurence Llewellyn Bowen. I think Byronesque is the word I'm looking for

Girls:

Cara: a stick in the mud, probably an over officious local goverment officer.
Lucy: Blonde, fluffy, has a lisp. Bit irritating but has a heart of gold.
Marian: Generic Mum
Zoe: Hair dyed interesting colours. Studies archaelogy at university.

PuppyMonkey · 30/01/2009 16:58

CupaTeaJanice seems to have this covered imho... lol. Here goes...

Aaron - very religious.
Arthur - Fonzereli, from Happy Days.
Lucas - very fanciable
Malachy - lives in the Amish community.

Cara - bitch and a bully
Lucy - sporty and fun
Marian - old boring lady
Zoe - student.

Very good idea this btw!

KatB · 30/01/2009 18:20

Aaron - The little boy at school that ate rubbers, a little overweight he has an arrogant side to him to compensate for bullying.

Arthur - An old man married to Pauline, salt of the earth wears knitted patterned jumpers.
Lucas - A handsome fella in a studious way, goes to university and marries an Annabel
Malachy - A loveable rogue, cheeky and handsome with it, clever but shuns conventional education in favour of entroprenarialism

Girls:

Cara - Studious, clever but fun-loving and a good friend.
Lucy - Cute and conventional, does what she is supposed to do, marries well and has 2.4 children and a house in surburbia
Marian - A librarian with an unattentive husband, she's very mumsy looking and dreams of doing something wild but would never have the guts to do it. her friend Marianne is beautiful and sexy, Marian can never live up to her
Zoe - Wild and a bit sexy, rebellious but not in a bad way. Gets what she wants and everyone likes her because she's such fun.

That was fun!

SoMuchToBits · 30/01/2009 18:32

Aaron - slightly wild sort of chap, quite sporty.
Arthur - fat old man, who would use the car to go tot a shop 100 yards down the road.
Lucas - greasy hair and leather jacket.
Malachy - slightly sinister - you're never quite sure what he's thinking.

Cara - very quiet, careful sort of girl.
Lucy - bit sugary-sweet, prone to tears.
Marian - very studious and a bit frumpy.
Zoe - quite dynamic, fun but focussed.

Think this thread is great btw - far more useful and entertaining than your average name thread!

boccadellaverita · 30/01/2009 19:01

Aaron - Dad is a big Elvis fan. In later life, Aaron is an actor on Hollyoaks (2029 version).
Arthur - Tall and muscular. Future landscape gardener and captain of rugby.
Lucas - A sweet little boy, grows up to be an aromatherapist.
Malachy - Dark and brooding. Works as a postman to leave time for writing poetry, for which he wins awards but little money.

Cara - Her mother hopes she will become an opera singer but she opts for accountancy.
Lucy - Very sweet and girly, which is endearing until she is 10 but wearing after that.
Marian - Serious, capable and clever. As a teenager, doctors her birth certificate and passport so that she can present herself as Marianne.
Zoe - Clever but not interested in academia. Is captain of school hockey team and later runs her own riding stables.

Vulgar · 30/01/2009 19:15

Aaron - wears a hoody and is a bit thick

Arthur - a bit of a mummy's boy

Lucas - wears trendy thick rimmed geek specs

Malachy - is from notorious family

Cara -looks like a potato (sorry)

Lucy -prefect at school

Marian -her legs go blotchey on the hockey pitch. They wouldn't if she was called Marianne.

Zoe -speaks really slowly in that west London posh girl way.

helsy · 30/01/2009 19:23

Aaron is always in trouble at school. It's never his fault. The teacher is scared of him. Not as scared as she is of his mum.

Arthur wears a bow tie and carries a briefcase - at 12. He is bullied. A lot. He had a reading age of 14 when he was 5. He is an only child.

Lucas wears an England shirt ALL THE TIME. He thinks girls are smelly.

Malachy has floppy hair. He learnt to drive his dad's sports car at 10. He's smoked since he was 12. All the girls fancy him.He fancies his teacher.

Girls:

Cara is very popular. Tall. Clever.
Lucy is a bit two-faced.
Marian is always looking after people. Good at hockey.
Zoe used to be a boy.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/01/2009 19:32

Boys:

Aaron - like it. My nephew's name. Suggests fun and would suit child and adult.
Arthur - bit too old fashioned for me but ok
Lucas - ok. Would you be happy with the inevitable shortening to Luke?
Malachy - sorry not one I like. Maybe a bit pretentious

Girls:

Cara - was considering this ourselves but I have a friend called Cara. She's lovely and to me it suggests someone fun yet chilled.
Lucy - nice but nothing special
Marian - bit too old fashioned for me. Makes me think of DH's Auntie Marion
Zoe - nice but all the Zoe's I know can be a bit 2 faced

(Apologies to anyone who's name or DC's name I have insulted! Have just tried to answer the OP)

IamLeticiaDean · 30/01/2009 19:34

Girls:

Cara: love it! Makes me think of tight curls and having fun

Aaron: Drippy, wets himself at school aged 9
Arthur: Poshish, long blonde flowing locks

Zoe: Bound for Oxbridge, probably

GrimbleTheResourceful · 30/01/2009 22:30

All of these women are in their thirties.

Marian wears knee- length skirts and flat shoes, all of her clothes are in shades of brown. Her hair is mid-brown, shoulder-length, slighty wavy, no particular style. She is very reliable.

Cara has glossy black hair and good skin. She is disloyal and not to be trusted.

Lucy is a little plump, long blonde hair, always smiling. She is happy and fun to be with. Quite sexy actually.

Zoe also has blonde hair, short though. She is petite, always buzzing about, possibly has an over-active thyroid.

GrimbleTheResourceful · 30/01/2009 22:36

The boys, however, are in their twenties.

Aaron has blond hair, a round face, rugby-player build. He is difficult.

Arthur is tall, dark hair, solid. He's an entrepreneur. Actually, thinking about it, he has a successful business making cider in the west country.

Lucas is fair, also tall, clever, always had trouble with his adenoids.

Malachy is tall, skinny (in a good, wiry way)and troubled. He is great company but unhappy in his chosen career. He writes poetry.

seanybosmummy · 30/01/2009 23:05

I have a brother called Aaron, he is hilarious and mischievous!

Arthur-nerdy and old

Lucas- quiet and well behaved

Malachy- bald with glasses

cara-voluptious and secretive

lucy- stuck up

marian- middle aged and chatty

zoe- fun loving and likes to show off a nipple piercing to those willing and also non willing to look!

minesacheeseandpicklesandwich · 30/01/2009 23:29

Aaron is always in trouble, never his fault(!) thinks he can get away with murder and probably will try that for real one day - he still lives with his mother, who is slightly scared of him;
Arthur is bookish and quiet but a solid, dependable type who will end up earning a fortune in the city - he lives with his mother until he marries well, when he goes straight into a three-bedroomed detached house;
Lucas is gorgeous and knows it, but still fairly intelligent and friendly, with a knowing twinkle in his eye that will endear him to mothers everywhere - he has a small flat in a seedily-fashionable part of town which is decorated in a very 'come hither' way;
Malachy is a tall, dark, pony-tailed poet, who thinks that he just needs to be 'discovered' to be understood - he lives in a bedsit and attracts 'plain' girls who are desperate to be 'cool'.

Cara is fun and friendly, tries hard and has lots of casual friends - she works evenings in a trendy bar and hopes to meet someone famous who will sweep her off her feet;
Lucy is slightly spoilt and doesn't realise that her 'friends' are only with her because her family have money - she does 'charity work' when she isn't telling the nanny what to do;
Marion is quiet, dark-haired and quite beautiful in a subtle way - she wants to write for a living but hasn't got the confidence to send anything off;
Zoe is a bubbly party-goer and everybody's friend, petite and pretty with a sporty fella by her side - she works for an estate agent but wants to go into PR because she likes helping people and having fun at the same time.

Wow, that was fun - I have to start writing again...

carasmum · 30/01/2009 23:45

Lucas - tough little cookie mischievious and lovable.

Malachy - An irish accountant (sorry!)

Cara - my daughter, cheeky, lively, pretty, likes to make people laugh and has a gorgeous breathy giggle!!Tiny but really fiesty!

Lucy - cute and pretty, kind.

Marian - plain Jane, play piano, quiet and studious.

Zoe - mean, conceited, and selfish.

tb73 · 31/01/2009 12:52

Aaron - simple and nice chap, lives in a 3 bed semi on a new estate and drives a ford focus
Arthur - Slighty eccentric lecturer with a food laden beard and dirty finger nails from the allotment
