we are currently expecting dd2 and have always loved the name Lauren (dd1 was nearly called this), we thought we would call dd2 Lauren but have just found out there is a Lauren in Eastenders whose sister is called Abbie (dd1's name!)
Neither of us ever watch Eastenders and still really like the name, but I really dont want everyone thinking we have named our dd's after Eastenders characters!!

Would you still use Lauren? can you suggest anything else? We do like Freya but not as much

both of my dds have names that are featured on EastEnders. The first time the character turned up when dd1 was about 3 years old. 2nd time round I really really loved the name so used it regardless.

There was a thread a while back discussing the name Lauren in the context of it being that Catherine Tate character. That didn't bother me either.

i'd go for it because as previously said these arent characters that are likely to be around for long and I doubt there'd be people who would think you had purposely done it. hope this helps x
