Surname starts J

Really like girls name Beatrice, which is also a family name so would really want to use it (should I have a girl!

Full name would be Beatrice Victoria J

• honest opinions please. DH thinks no but is notorious for having dirty mind!

I know of a little boy who was actually named BJ on his birth certificate. To make matters worse his surname was Wood (or Woody - was a while ago). Nowthat is just cruel!

DS is B.J. Surname!

Neither he nor his mates have worked it out yet (thankfully as he is only 8!)

But if he's anything like his father when he grows up, it'll be very apt

Another option is you could do the same as the parents of a friend of mine. They wanted to call her C A D but didn't like the initials, so had her official name as A C* D but then called her C. If that makes sense!
Seems a lot of hassle to me but just thought I'd let you know of another option...

Don't worry too much, I work with someone whose name is actually Bee-Jaye! I don't know how she lives with it, and i've never had the courage to ask her why the hell her parents called her that.

You are right- I wont worry about it!

I think Beatrice is a lovely name but we have a surname starting in O and I vetoed ALL B names because of worries about initials.

And for those saying initials don't matter - I have had 4 jobs so far in my life and in every job I was on rotas/task lists/minutes of meetings as my initials. And my current work email address is my initials + a number so I think initials do matter.
