I'm due in April and if the baby is a boy I want to call him Ernie....I think it's lovely. DP isnt keen but I might be able to convince him before the arrival!

the baby names threads are notorious and bumper just means that sometimes people are a little lacking in forethought for their babies' names when pregnant and hormonal

Ds went out dressed as Underground Ernie the other weekend. We went to a furniture showroom, we spoke to a the sales chap, the name on his badge was yep Ernie. He then asked ds who he was dressed as. Tres embarrassing.

Och he found the outfit in the back of his cupboard whilst I was cleaning it out and you know what 5 yr old boys are like once they get an idea into their head. There was no persuading him to take it off, I didn't expect to run into a kosher Ernie though.

Nancy, I'm not kidding you, that was the exact reason why DH said we couldn't call DD Aurora. Bless your DD though!

Aww kidcreole, I was kidding (mostly), and like I said, it wasn't soley directed at you. I just don't like Ernie, and like it even less knowing you have a DS called Bertie! I just think that when we are pg these things seem like a good idea until you really think about your LO having that name.

Actually I think the real litmus test should be how would you feel if you had that name and had to tell people.

Anyway, pick whatever name you want. You asked what we thought, that's what I think.
