Not keen on Lenny and Reggie just makes you think of the Krays. Like the others though - especially Sid and Stanley - helluva lot of Alfies out there.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/01/2009 17:41

I like Jack or Leo from your list

janeite · 08/01/2009 17:41

Reggie - dreadful, sorry

Stanley - don't like

Max - like a lot (And Max said "BE STILL" and tamed them with the magic trick of starring into all their yellow eyes without blinking once)

Alfie / alfred - doesn't excite me much and is getting very common

Lenny / leonard - can't get "Of Mice And Men" out of my head, although the spelling is different

Leo - nice

Jack - okay

sydney / sidney - don't like

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 08/01/2009 17:43

sorry but not keen on any of your suggestions, as to me they sound rather like pet's names!

Hulababy · 08/01/2009 17:43

From your list I prefer Jack and Alfie. I also like Fred, short for Alfred.

stroppyknickers · 08/01/2009 17:45

aren't old man names getting a bit overused now? Not a problem unless you are trying to be different. I have a Leo. And a Monty.

oneblueandonepink · 08/01/2009 18:48

Ethan, Harvey and Oscar

Bubbaluv · 08/01/2009 19:03

I have a Leo so am biased, but it does go well with your other names. Also love Sid/Sydney.
Not keen on names that are shortenings of other names so Jack, reggie and Max are out for me.

BoccaDellaVerita · 08/01/2009 19:08

Reggie - I like grandad names but not this one!
Stanley - Love it (there are lots of them around here)
Max - Overdone. How about Maxim?
Alfie / alfred - I like Alfred with Alfie as a pet name.
Lenny / leonard - Ditto with Leonard and Lenny.
Leo - Overdone.
Jack - A nice name but there will be 3 in his class at school. Does that matter to you?
sydney / sidney - Another grandad name which I don't like!

Who suggested Hector? I like Hector. What about Albert?

piscesmoon · 08/01/2009 19:10

I only like Jack

Max is OK and Leo.

I'm sorry but I hate the rest.

Doha · 08/01/2009 19:25

MarchNowFebMum · 08/01/2009 19:49

MarchNowFebMum · 08/01/2009 19:51

Tidey · 08/01/2009 19:53

ThePudding · 09/01/2009 14:17

Henry
Marvin
Hector

RachieB · 09/01/2009 14:24

I only like Leo and Leon(ard)
jack is nice too but a bit overused

clairebear88 · 09/01/2009 18:56

my friend has just had a ds and named him Ronnie which I think is sweet. From your list i like

Reggie
Max
Alfie / alfred
Lenny / leonard
Leo
Jack

FAQtothefuture · 09/01/2009 18:57

I'm not actually that keen on the name Jack, but I think it goes well with your other DS's names.

xxhunnyxx · 09/01/2009 21:27

Alfie or Jack.
My dad is called Leonard and he hates it.
Leo is ok too.

KatB · 09/01/2009 21:36

I think Ethan, Harvey and Max sounds great. I also like Leo. Not keen on the others but none of them are awful

Good luck!

bubblebell1 · 09/01/2009 22:04

thanks for your suggestions.. please keep them coming.

we have scrapped Reggie, Sidney, leonard.

George
Aaron

OP posts:
Astrophe · 09/01/2009 22:07

What about Joe?

janeite · 10/01/2009 20:08

I don't like Aaron at all sorry - but that may have something to do with the fact that most of the Aarons I have taught have been erm.... difficult....

bubblebell1 · 10/01/2009 21:32

what about miles/myles???
