Love it or hate it?

I heard it at a baby group recently although it was shortened to Marcy.
I think I quite like it, it's different but still pretty.

Not sure if I like it or not.

Ds has a Hungarian boy in his class called Marcelle

It's lovely, but only if there is a family context.
For example, it wouldn't really work with Smith, would it? You'd want something nice and exotic on the end of that.

I love this name, and all it's variants (Marcelle, Marcel for a boy etc). Would you pronounce it Mars-ella or March-ella? Both gorgeous.

Btw, I know one Marcella. She is Marcella O'Brien . Not exotic, but it works on her (she is also stunningly beautiful, which helps!).

I knew a Marcello. He was very theatrical.

I don't like it. Mariella is nicer, as is Marianne.

It was the name of Ross's monkey in Friends.

I've been a Marcella for nearly 40 years - worked for me - Primary teachers, hair dressers, ex-work colleagues all still remember me/my name! I hated it a school for a while, but grew to like its uniqueness. I've only met 3 others, all of us were named Marcella due to a family connection. I'm considering it for my newborn (later this year) - it was my mums name and her aunts name.
