What do you all think? Came across it in a book and I really like it- pretty and unusual.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Fimbo · 07/01/2009 18:52

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

FAQtothefuture · 07/01/2009 18:53

I don't like it.......actually I hate it.

But that could be something to do with my name being a shortened version of it (which i dislike anyhow) and people insisting on calling me Gwendolyn and every bloody other variation when I was younger.

ScummyMummy · 07/01/2009 18:54

Not good.

PottyCockinaPearTree · 07/01/2009 18:56

I like it! I saw your name in on of your posts ages ago FAQ and it's lovely!

hullygully · 07/01/2009 18:56

Awful rabbit toothed girly cowardly custard Gwendolyn in Malory Towers (or St Clare's, a Blyton boarding school anyway).

FAQtothefuture · 07/01/2009 18:56

Potty - it's blurgh, I've always disliked it.

And I don't like my middle name either, so can't even switch to that for personal stuff LOL.

mogwai · 07/01/2009 18:59

reminds me of the character in wallace and grommit - or was that wendoline?

Littlefish · 07/01/2009 19:02

Sorry - it makes me think of the fat girl in Malory Towers who pretended to have a heart problem to get out of doing exams

jangly · 07/01/2009 19:04

I think its lovely. Sort of King Arthur-ish, or Robin Hood, or something.

BibiThree · 07/01/2009 19:04

I absolutely adore it and one of my girls has Gwen as a middle name. I wish I'd pushed gor Gwondolyn or Gwenllian as a first name now.

BibiThree · 07/01/2009 19:05

that should have been
pushed for Gwendolyn...

mejon · 07/01/2009 20:21

Gwenno is lovely .

cory · 07/01/2009 20:25

I'm sorry, all I can hear is the voice of Dame Edith Evans: "Gwendolyn, the carriage!"

dinny · 07/01/2009 20:26

spoilt brat from Malory Towers

sleepyhead3 · 07/01/2009 20:57

Okay- that will be a NO then! I still like it but is seems to have bad associations for lots of people.

OP posts:
MrsMattie · 07/01/2009 20:58

Very pretty and agree - very King Arthur-ish.

mamalovesmojitos · 07/01/2009 21:02

twee.

CrushWithEyeliner · 07/01/2009 21:12

I like it but prefer Gwyneth or just Gwen

PixieMoon · 07/01/2009 21:15

Gwennan is another option that I like

Tallis · 07/01/2009 21:20

What about the Italian version: Guendalina? Much prettier IMHO...

Barcelonababe · 07/01/2009 21:26

let me know what you think

TequilaMockinBird · 07/01/2009 21:27

Noooooooo, reminds me of a horrible fat old lady who used to live next door to us when we were children and would stick a knife through our footballs if they went over her fence (amongst other horrid things!)
