This is far too premature and I'm sure I'm probably jinxing myself, but here we go anyway

DH and I are ttc#2 and are struggling to agree on baby names! We both love the name we chose for DS and still love it now...but we just don't feel the same about any other name for our next child! With DS's name - we agreed instantly....

My list is:

Girls: -
Charlotte
Amelie
Emme/line
Lola
Eliza
Laila
Thea

Boys: -
Oscar
Oliver
Benjamin
Owen
Samual
Theo

His are:

Girls: -
Sophie
Phoebe
Lucy
Rebecca

Boys: -
James
Thomas

Soooo....opinions please!!

All the names are lovely apart from Emmeline and Phoebe.

They're all very nice names. I'm not personally keen on Oliver, Thea and Emmeline but they are perfectly nice, reasonable, fine-sounding names.

My personal favourites are Laila, Charlotte, Lucy, James, Thomas and Benjamin.

Love them all, except Laila personally. With girls, have you (jointly) considered Lucie? Has he really vetoed Benjamin and Samuel - looking at his list, they are more 'traditional' but Ben and Sam are hardly way out there?

I like all of your girl's names, especially Eliza, Emmeline, Lola & Laila/Leila. Your boy's names - not so keen. Samuel is the nicest.

Your DH's names are dull

I like these..

Thea
Oscar
Owen
Samuel
Theo
Sophie
Lucy

i think your husband are slightly dull (cr*p taste!!) and you have very good taste... except for charlotte and owen.. but looking at your lists your husband seems to like more traditional, solid names so perhaps decide which one of yours is traditional/solid and try and win him round?

I love Thea and desperately wanted one but after my 2nd was another boy I went for Theo so I love both of those.

nappyaddict · 17/01/2009 19:19

I like Emmeline (what about Emmelina?), Eliza and Thea (could use Dorothea as a fll name?), Oscar and Theo. All the rest too popular for me.
