was thinking of it too...love it.

troutpout · 06/01/2009 19:05

I liked it when pg with dd..but she didn't have a willy when she was born
I like it a lot

LiffeyAnnaLivia · 06/01/2009 21:05

Love it. My son was almost a Frederick. Freddie Flintoff was tipped to win SPOTY though, so I thought it might become the next Jack, but it hasn't risen that much.

ohdearwhatamess · 06/01/2009 21:14

I love it. Would have been my first choice boys name if only we hadn't already given the name to one of the dogs. Dh was all for calling ds1 or ds2 Freddie anyway.

oliviasmama · 06/01/2009 22:12

GREAT name.

ateles · 07/01/2009 12:11

My DS is Frederick...known as Fred/Freddie. I think it is a great name and I'm not at all biased

Buda · 07/01/2009 12:14

FIL was Fred and he made me promise that if we ever had a boy we wouldn't call him Fred/Frederick. When DS was born we gave him Frederick as a second name. FIL died before we had DS and DS loves that he is called after him. And I think Fred would forgive me!

I like it.

BonsoirAnna · 07/01/2009 12:16

Lovely, lovely name.

SwedesInACape · 08/01/2009 16:13

DS1 (soon to be 17) is a Frederick - called Freddie. I think it's a lovely name and he agrees.

BonsoirAnna - I like your name. Isn't Frederic terribly popular in France along with Eric?

Takver · 08/01/2009 16:30

Fantastic name, Frederick, Fred and Freddie all fab.

BonsoirAnna · 08/01/2009 18:35

Popularity of Eric in France.

Popularity of Frédéric in France.

Both names are of "our" generation and no longer popular. Having said that, DD had a little Eric from her class round after school today.

CountessDracula · 08/01/2009 18:36

DD was going to be Freddie
but she was a girl
Love it

BonsoirAnna · 08/01/2009 18:38

Frederica is fab, fab name

CountessDracula · 08/01/2009 18:40

Yes we did consider it, or just straight Freddie for a girl
However she didn't really look like a Freddie when she was born and by the time I was out of intensive care dh had pretty much decided!

BonsoirAnna · 08/01/2009 18:41

I agree, it's a name with a very strong personality, you'd have to have a match with the child.

Still, it would be on my reserve list
