Can I insist on a name hubby not too keen on?

We know we are having a girl this time and I really like Phoebe as a name as does my son (he's 4)
Hubby says he doesn't really like it but will go along with me as He says I will get my own way in the end.
He says all people can think of is Friends when they hear the name, which I don't think is a bad thing.
Anyway I am really set on Phoebe and can't think of her as anything else but do you think I should discount it if dh says not keen?
He isn't really putting up much of a fight to be honest so I am sure he would go along with it.
If he said a name I didn't like there is no way I would go along with it.
We did originally like Olivia or Elizabeth but not comfortable with Olivia as so popular at moment and know lots of girls called Liz who I am not really keen on.
Your opinions greatly appreciated.

I have a Phoebe and we never get the friends comment. I think by the time your dd is older it will be all but forgotten as a programme anyway! She is 8 now and keen on her name apart from when it is shortened to fi-fi by the bully next door!

I do feel it should be a joint thing though, you'd be a bit miffed if he was insisting on a name and you felt you had No choice. That said, give stuff a chance to settle in after you suggest it.

it doesn't sound like you would be insisting anyway, if he really didn't like it then he wouldn't be prepared to go along with it, now would he!
If I were you, I would wait until immediately after you have had the baby and talk about it then, he'll probably be far more keen on it when he's seen you going through so much pain to get little Phoebe here!

I have never had the Friends comment for my Phoebe either.

I do think you will have to find a name both of you like though - my dh didn't agree to any of my suggestions and all of them were compromises. I love all our dcs names now though

We have never had any comments about Friends either.
