DS 2 is due in May...I have been out-voted on Gabriel and Bryn, so looks like he'll be Euan/Ewan. I prefer Euan..DH prefers Ewan. Really stuck...which shall I go with?

What about Iwan if you were thinking of Bryn because of a Welsh connection?

ReginaFelange · 05/01/2009 16:47

Euan is less harsh. I like it much better

pointydog · 05/01/2009 16:50

euan

Sesi · 05/01/2009 17:42

Euan is much nicer than Ewan for some reason.

Not sure why, maybe it looks less Anglicised?

shootfromthehip · 05/01/2009 17:46

Euan is nicer. Ewan is easier to spell!

Milly6 · 05/01/2009 18:00

Euan.

mumof3bs1more · 05/01/2009 23:56

I think Euan in common and Ewan is lovely if i had Ewan it would def be with a W as everybody puts a u to try and be modern and trendy but the original scottish spelling is EWAN good luck deciding!(After all it still is prenounced the same lol)

Tillyscoutsmum · 06/01/2009 09:06

Dp is a Ewen - just to confuse matters ! Lots of different spellings on b'day cards etc.

KatB · 06/01/2009 11:32

Euan... although Ewan is nice too as reminds me of the yummy Ewan MacGregor

AzureBlueSky · 06/01/2009 19:14

My ds is Euan (16 mnths) - hadn't come across any others until he was born and they now seem to be everywhere! Spose it would be the same with any name though.

Euan isn't just Scottish it's Manx too.

I've found that about 80% of christmas cards were to Ewan.

Hope your Euan is as scrummy as mine!

Sherbster · 11/06/2012 14:23

Ewan is the original Scottish lowland version of the Gaelic name Eóghan. Euan is a modern Anglicised equivalent that first reared its head in the 1970s.
