Isla - not keen on Martha and really don't like Matilda - but that's just me, maybe.

Isla is very popular atm though

bodiddly · 04/01/2009 19:14

I think I would pick Martha too!

ramonaquimby · 04/01/2009 19:14

Isla - not keen, bit drippy I think

Martha is gorgeous, lovely name

Matilda bit 'popular'

ComeWhineWithMe · 04/01/2009 19:15

Oh and anyone think of any nice middle names to go with them? All I can think of is Grace or Rose and they seem a bit Meh iyswim ?
I don't have any family names I could really use as I have 4 other dd's and have used most of the nice ones up .

what about your surname as middle name?

wheresthehamster · 04/01/2009 19:16

I agree with Marla.

Matilda will get shortened to Tilly which is really popular.

Don't like Isla.

ComeWhineWithMe · 04/01/2009 19:16

See I am worried about Isla too all is quiet on the Isla front now but I know in a couple of years there will probbaly be 12 Isla's in nursery .

Isla or Martha good.

wotuhohohoinat · 04/01/2009 19:19

Martha is my middle name, and I don't like it as a middle name, but as a first name it's cool. I like Matilda.

I love all of these names. If you could avoid Isla though, that would be a big help to my sister who is 30 this year, and had 25 years of having an unusual name and is now feeling a bit less special ...

TheFallenMadonna · 04/01/2009 19:25

Isla or Martha I like.

Matilda - nope.

blametheparents · 04/01/2009 19:26

Isla Heather

Sorry really don't like Matilda. I alwasy think of someone weedy and weak for some reason - no idea why -sorry.

Hulababy · 04/01/2009 19:31

I like them all, esp Martha and Matilda.

preggersplayspop · 04/01/2009 20:25

I really like Martha. Isla always makes me think of Isla StClair and knitted jumpers.

How about Martha Jane? (Martha Imogen is a lovely combination as well).

mamamila · 04/01/2009 20:35
