However...

Somebody use this name.

Never seen it suggested and it's time things changed.

I like it. But then, I like Zelda and Rhoda too.

It's old lady chic, but not too predictable. Blue sky thinking old lady chic. A strong woman's name imo. Like Beatrice or Constance. Nobody's doormat a Rhonda.

SnowOfHands · 01/01/2009 18:18

No naswm, you cannot.

Come on. I won't rest till it's on a birth annoucement.

LiffeySaysHappyNewYear · 01/01/2009 18:20

SOH, I'm on a mission to bring back Bruce, Victor, Dulcie and Zelda.

I want to see a baby bruce in his bugaboo, OK, is that too much to ask??

naswm · 01/01/2009 18:20

I know a bruce

LiffeySaysHappyNewYear · 01/01/2009 18:21

Ha ha!!!! Just read your post on another thread.

SnowOfHands · 01/01/2009 18:21

Ah tis alright then naswm- where have you been btw? Not seen you on here in aaaages. You don't have to answer btw, just hadn't seen you for a while.

Loving the Beach Boys soundtrack to the thread.

MrsMattie · 01/01/2009 18:22

lollll@Rhonda.

I prefer Rhona, myself.

SnowOfHands · 01/01/2009 18:23

Dulcie and Zelda are wonderful. I know a Bruce and he's a bit odd so that tarnishes the name. Victor's a bit self-congratulatory. But I will suggest all four regularly to the Ella/Charlotte/Poppy brigade.

beach boys -

hi showofhands - I left mn back in the summer but came back the other day!!! thanks for rememebring me!

SnowOfHands · 01/01/2009 18:27

No problem. I remember you from a thread years ago where a lot of us were complaining that nobody ever notices us. Always noticed you since, apart from recently when I was to see you weren't around.

Good to have you back.

naswm · 01/01/2009 18:29

I dont rememebr that thread - but am touhced you have notcied me hope you have only noticed the nice bits

LiffeySaysHappyNewYear · 01/01/2009 18:32

Thanks SOH, Everytime somebody says "what about Jack?" I reply with, hmmm, prefer Bruce really, which is the only sane reply. Jack #1 for 14 years......! The World needs fewer Jacks and more Bruces and more Rhondas!

'Victor's so self-congratulatory'!! thanks, you've just articulated beautifully what it is about the name I love so much.

Bruce is like a red rag to normality! You think I'm going to work in a bank? You think I'm going to wear a v-neck stripey sweater with a white t-shirt underneat???

NO! I'm going to go and live in the junge (or something)

Oh it was years ago. Before I got pg even and I have a nearly 2yr old.

Of course I only notice the nice bits, though I also remember you had some unhappiness in there. Hope you don't mind me saying. Gawd, sound like a stalker. I remember everybody from that thread because it's the night I changed my name to SOH and I vowed to 'notice' everybody who'd said they felt invisible.
